Died In Their Own Honor
by

The white eyes came one day
We invited them to come sit with us
We sat around the flaming fires
That circled around Mother Earth
Each one smoked the Peace Pipe
Made especially for this event
Was to be, according the those white eyes, a new beginning
For us all
Well, all of the promises they made
They lied about!
Couldn't trust the words that they spoke after that
Many of them came carrying their flags
Riding in on their horses
Killing & yelling
That was the very day
That most of the true Indian Braves
Died in their own Honor
They knew they were going to be killed
But they stood tall for their Tribe
Stood up for their Indian Rights
Died in true Honor
Died on their own Red earth
Where their bodies returned to the dust
In which they were Created
