| A Bag of Sadness by eaglespirits02 The line of Red people waiting to make their way Into the Gates of Indian Heaven was long and moved slowly As so many Souls entered One old Indian gentleman carried a bag on his shoulder His Maker asked him why be brought things into Heaven As all others left their belongings behind His Maker explained to him that he should bring nothing with him As he was born with nothing, no bags on his shoulder The old man looked into his Makers brown eyes He explained I brought to you a bag of sadness I felt while on earth Didn't want to leave my sadness behind, was afraid a small child Would find this old bag and open it and have a lifetime of sadness A burden put on him such as I So, here's my bag of sadness Much sorrow and tears in there too Please, my Maker I want to be happy here with you Please, put this away for me His Maker took the bag, then he placed his left hand On the old Red man's shoulder Welcome my Son, you can now smile This old bag of sadness Will be returned down to its rightful owner Anne Leach |
