Below The Stone Mountains

Cast not your tokens but wear them proud.
Our symbols of a heritage lost in time.
The amulets of generations buried.
Long black with doe like eyes her smile.

A golden hue of the sun reflections.
Brick block stone mountains
dwelled in peaceful existence.
Ivy covered in rich green shadows.

Turquoise rich blue water flows to
depths of crystalline clear bottoms.
The jungles desert now of ancients.
The sea but a moment away in time.

Stirrings of her heart felt from
atop the stone mountain.
Sky arms envelope the sun holding
for all to see beams of yellow light.

She covers it and starlight
twinkles around her head.
The steps long descending
in her wake of leather flows.

Her crowned halo of golden light
reflected a torch of guidance.
The path was to her heart as her
eyes spoke words I never heard.

Our handmade mountains of
earth behind we followed.
Deep into the bowels of earth
the talisman beckoned us.

Our spirits felt the fire cool as we
gathered round our camp of souls.
The great door closed and we rejoiced
in our safety of silent freedom.
