Perfection In A Moment
by

Ah to dream is purely sin,
When I see your sparkly eyes-
My breath has left me still of lips,
Tauntingly, around me, it flies.

You're all tied up but being freed-
The voice beside me echoes talk,
Lucid dreaming, wine barrells busting,
All writen nicely in chalk.

You look at me, past my eyes-
Directly, an arrow, to my soul;
My god the smile you just flashed me,
Just won yourself another goal.

I ponder how I could have missed,
Noticing you here before-
Wondering how not to fall in love with that smile,
And trying to keep off of the floor.

A vision of perfection to my eyes,
At least you are to me,
And if I could have a taste of your mouth-
Surely, in sweet paradise I'd be.

A flash and everyone fades away-
To leave just you and I,
Inside a misty early morning forrest-
Where the earth breathes a sigh.

Your voice is calling in my mind-
But your lips have never parted-
You asked me no to go away-
As if I'd even started.

You call to me from another world,
Or so it is you say-
And ask why I would wish to rule you-
But everything fades away.

I would have gotten on my knees-
And kissed your dirty feet,
I'd pray to you as my own God,
For one chance of lips to meet.

I would have done just anything-
You only needed to ask,
The one thing you wanted from me,
I fell short on that task.

When my eyes fluttered open-
And I was in my bed,
I couldn't help but curse it all,
From sleep I was abruptly led.

I couldn't believe the deep misfortune
Of having to awaken,
But back to sleep I eventually fled,
To hopefully, in dreams, remain unshaken.

Into your arms I quickly rushed-
Trying to bring it back;
I hope to dream of you again-
When the night's been painted black.
