Just a Memory
by

I remember the rocks,
And the soupy sand,
Under my feet,
On the rivers lush land.

Wind was blowing
Through my strawberry hair,
Family and relatives,
Also my friends were all there.

A green explosion,
It lit up the sky,
Followed by gold
Beautiful to the eye.

Ohhh's and Ahhh's,
Sounded around,
Blankets were all
Spread on the ground.

The boats rocked,
Tied to their posts,
Sparkles up high,
Made shadows like ghosts.

A chilly breeze,
Drifted the sky,
We cherrish this night,
The fourth of July.
