| The Day of The Spirits by � calmingriver This elderly lady and her man lived on the banks of the wolf river. many spirits live in their house. some stay, some come and go. many ppl come to this house for healing. many things draw these ppl. it is not for the keepers of the house to say or explain. for some weeks three ppl from a distance would come to seek help. they would go to sweats, talk and try to learn. the elder woman noticed that these three who traveled togather were always in arguments with each other. as time passed this old woman got to know more of these three ppl, she began to understand that she could not help them. she began thinking of them as the lying woman, the screaming woman and the yelling man. she was unsure what to do, but allowed them to come in to her house. one day, only two came to visit, the crying woman and the yelling man. they went about their business, the next day, the crying woman looked at the yelling man and said to him, we have to leave now if we are to get back. i have night vision and can not see. he began to cook not listening to her. the crying woman repeated her statement. the yelling man sat down and began to talk. paying the crying woman no mind. the crying woman had her head burried in a blanket. the old woman new something bad would happen,but could not change the flow of these two beings patterns of life. so she sat. the yelling man finally said to the crying woman that it was time to leave. the crying woman said no, i can not see in the dark. the yelling man stood tall and a black look came into his eyes. he began to yell, she began to cry. the old woman sat back and watched. the old woman already new that a yelling man has closed ears and a cring woman does too. neither had medicine, neither new who they were. the yelling man began to pace, and throw his key chain down again and again, yelling. the crying woman fled the room. the old lady than said to the yelling man. leave my house, you may not stay,you show no respect. the yelling man said i dont care if she cries. the old woman stood and said, you need to appolige to her. he would not and began yelling at the old woman. he was angry, but she was bear and new who she was. the old woman again said you should appoligize and he became very angry. the bear woman stood her ground and said, leave, he would not. the crying woman came down the stairs and when she crossed into the room where the old lady was, the room filled with spirits. bear woman was now mad. she was in her cave and this being would not leave. before she could strike a warmness began to fill her right hand. the room continued to fill with spirits, so many, they filled the play room to. they made a circle around the old bear woman. and stopped, keeping the yelling man and crying woman out of it. the old womans hand became heavier and was hot. she began to go down under the weight, and was over come by a strong power. there was nothing she could do. the phone rang and her partner said, you are in trouble and my grandfather is holding you down. i have called the police. ahhhhhhh thought the old woman the spirits went to my husband and told him i needed help. so the old woman sat their surrounded by spirits. the tribal police came and said your husband wants someone removed. the old woman said yes. i have asked this yelling man to leave and he will not. the tribal police looked at the room and turned to the man and said what ever you have in this house collect it. you are leaving and none of your things may stay. ahhhhhhh thought the old woman, this young one can see the spirits and is going the old ways. he is not asking why the man must leave he knows that the man must leave. this young one knows of medicine. they took the yelling man outside and said to the elder woman, look hard for anything that is not yours and put it outside your door. we will be back to take it were it should go. the crying woaman left the next day and none have been seen since. this is a true story. poso |
