| Bats by � calmingriver The old lady on the shores of the river keeps a safe house, open to all who feel the urge to drink or use. she even takes in those who have relapsed. one day she opended her house to a man who had lost everything and had contemplated drinking. watching tv, late into the evening the man gave out a whoop. the old lady, went to see what was up. ahhhhhhhh, a large bat was flying around her house. the bat was not the normal size of those that did come into her home. it was beautiful and huge. the old woman opended a door to shoo the bat out. she turned on all lights in all open spaces, except by open door. taking her broom she waved it back and forth to mark movement. this bat would shoot right by her, and fly into the lighted areas. hmmmmmmmm thought this old woman. three times this bat went to every room and space it could access. and than flew out the door. aeeeeeeeiiiii what a magnificant bat she thought. she than turned to man who had lost everything and said, so you are going to go through some heavy changes, prepare yourself. the man looking at this old woman stated, will, i signed up for collage. ahhhhhhhhh said the old woman and went about her way. the bat is a symbol of rebirth, of change. the bat sleeps upside down like a child ready to be born. thus rebirth. it represents the changing of the seasons. it is strong medicine. the old lady smiled as she sat down and started to hum. |
