| I Remember This Time... by biidsis When all was right with the world or so we foolishly thought. They came to me in a dream, a peaceful slumber, thrown suddenly into turmoil. There they were running, crashing, trying to get away but from what or whom? It was nighttime in this world as well, I heard them before I saw them. With great crashing sounds and unworldly bellows they suddenly were right in front of me! The Great Buffalo and Great Bear Spirits running and half crazed with fear. Their eyes glowed red from this fear and they crashed about wildly, searching for shelter. I ran with them trying to help them, not understanding why. Why were they running, why did they need help so desperately? We ran through cities and suburbs, towns and farmlands, crisscrossing the land, in and out of the wilderness of the forests and the wilderness of civilization. Hiding but never well enough. I began to realize they were running from something they could not escape. Man, and I remembered my brothers words, Choose another dream When he told me this, he also told me to call out to one of his Guides for help. So I called out to Red Buffalo Face, and he came nearly as huge as the Great Spirits I was trying to help. Bringing with him the knowing that if I did not leave I would surely be trampled in the panic. So he called for Lightening, twice he did this and still I could not wake. He then called for the Thunderbeings and this brought me from this horrid slumber. I jumped from my bed to go Honor the Thunderbeings and found none, only the peaceful rising of Grandfather Sun. I calmed myself and Honored him, giving thanks for the much needed help of Red Buffalo Face as well and grateful also for the brother who offered this magnificent Guide. When I told my brother of this dream, he offered comfort and meaning. He told me that we as humans fear what we do not understand and seek to destroy it. He told me who these Spirits were, the Great Buffalo of the West, and the Great Bear of the North. The West being our Inner and to look there. The North being Wise Counsel and Gratitude and to look there as well. Grandfathers rising in the East suggested Enlightenment, our own perhaps. The Buffalo is the Giveaway, do we truly know the meaning of this? Buffalo offered himself to sustain us. Are we grateful for the sacrifices made? The Bear, brings healing, dreams and introspection. All much needed gifts, do we truly look within? Do we truly allow healing? Do we heed our dreams? Both Bear and Buffalo were gifted to us from out of the caves. Both gifts from our own Mother Earth. Why then do we seek to destroy? Because we had forgotten these gifts, and now we need to remember and be grateful. The time is now, the return of the Buffalo and Bear is upon us. And still we fear and destroy. Our Ancestors saw them almost completely wiped out, just as they were. In our lifetime we are Graced by the return of these Spirits and so we must keep them safe for the Ancestors to come. It is all they ask, refuge. My brother also tells me that we have two choices, Love and Fear. Fear is no longer an option. I choose Love. bangan biidaaban |
