| Gathering Spirits The Vision by � biidsis One summer day a few years ago, i was lying down fighting a migrane. As i drifted along waiting for relief, my Grandfather took me took to a place. It was a reservation, i have never been there except in Spirit. We stood and watched the good People. Suddenly we noticed the sky begin to blacken and we knew!! Tornado!!! i ran about frantically, trying to warn, looking about for shelter, wanting desperately to help the children and Elders to find shelter. But they could not hear me, they could not see me. i realized then i was there in spirit. i turned to Grandfather and asked, how will they know? where will they go for shelter? will they be alright? He looked at me with great sadness in his eyes. i had my answer. i knew we were meant to witness, but why? As i stood with Grandfather in this Whirlwind, my answer came. There is a way to help. When it was over the good people came out to survey the wreckage. i turned to Grandfather and said, "it isn't over is it?" and his answer was in his eyes. In the vision i knew i must help some how, i whispered to a Grandmother "tell them to make a call, call out to our people!" She heard my whisper and with one phone call, many of our people answered. Soon we could see the dust rise at the end of this torn up, barely negotiable road. They came from all over the U.S. and Canada. Trucks filled with Men, Women and their Children. Grandmothers and Grandfathers to help...People, they brought everything that was needed. Food, Clothing, Pots, Pans, Lumber, Nails and Tools. They pulled in and began unloading, enlisting the help of those in need. The women set up a cook camp and began the task of feeding all. This is how it happened in the vision, not in life. A few weeks later i saw on the news that Pine Ridge had been devastated by tornados, one on Saturday and one on Sunday. i know we will see this happen again and again, my Prayer is that we can bring the help that is needed, when it is needed. That we can "link" all People and help one another. |
