Journal's Tears
by

Tears from a life
of misunderstandings
wantings, wishes
filling an ocean, full.
Tears falling
on the pages
of my life's journal
searching for a place
to call home.

I am who I am
walking my circular path
on the hardpan
of Mother Earth
the journal's words
trickle through
my fingers' tips
mixing in the salt
of the ocean's water.

I stand on its shore
the water
submerges my feet
anchoring me
to this spot
not moving
forward or backward
swaying
within the wind's breath.

The waves grow
crashing, surrounding me,
I scream to the sky
over the roaring in my ears
wishing the water to sweep
me away, pull me
down
craving the silence
of the ocean's depths.

My words
drawing pictures
of a life wished for
running together
joining my tears
they mingle
with the ocean's waters
creating
a new existence
I am released
from its hold.
I move to solid ground
awareness comes
I am all that I have lived
and will live
past, present, future.
