Although the voting results are unknown, it is rumoured that Tony Moore won. The final was held at the BBC TV Studios in London on March 11th, hosted by Katy Hill, with the winner being chosen by televoting.

Nanne (Grönvall) represented Sweden in 1996. Tony Moore previously appeared in the 1991 UK Final playing the guitar behind Lorraine Craig. At the Eurovision, Lindsay Dracass (as she became known) was 15th.
