The Turkish Final was held at the TRT TV studios in Ankara on March 9th, hosted by Bülent Özveren.  The winning song was chosen by the votes of 8 regional juries.

Izel Çelicöz previously took part in the Turkish Finals of 1988 (as a backing singer for Cantekin), 1989 (as a backing singer for Neco) and 1990 (15th). Can Ugurluer came 2nd in the 1990 Turkish Final, while Reyhan Karaca took part in the 1988 Turkish Final in the group Efekt. At the ESC they came 12th. One of the members of the group 4 x 1 was Candan Erçetin who represented Turkey in the 1986 ESC as a member of the group Klips ve Onlar. Arzu Ece represented Turkey in 1989 as a member of the group Pan. Gür Akad was the guitarist with the group Klips ve Onlar that represented Turkey in ESC 1986. Melis Sökmen was the female singer of the group Lokomotif that accompanied Seyyal Taner in the 1987 ESC.
