The Swiss Final was held on February 23rd at the Casino du Rivage in Vevey, hosted by Lolita Morena. The winner was chosen by the votes of 3 regional juries, a press jury and a jury of "experts".

Sandra Simo came 5th at the ESC. She previously came 8th in the 1990 Swiss Final. Daniela Simons represented Switzerland in 1986, and Carol Rich did the same in 1987.
