The Slovene Final was held on February 16th at the RTVSLO TV Studios in Ljubljana, hosted by Misa Molk & Andrea F. Before the final there was a semi-final - click here for details: SLOVENE SEMI-FINAL 2002 The winner was chosen by televoting, an "expert" jury and a Slovene TV jury; each with an equal weighting. Karmen Stavec won the televote.

Two members of the group Rok 'n' Band were backing singers for Slovenia in ESC 1997, while Karmen Stavec was a backing singer for Slovenia in ESC 1998. At the ESC, Sestre came equal 13th.
