The Slovene Final was held at the RTVSLO TV Studios in Ljubljana on February 22nd, hosted by Mojca Mavec. The winner was chosen by televoting.

At the Eurovision, Tanja Ribic came 10th. She had previously appeared in the 1991 Yugoslav Final, not as a singer, but as one of the 3 jurors on the Ljubljana jury. Irena Vrckovnik was one of Tanja's backing singers in the Eurovision, as were two of the men from Rok n' Band. Darja Svajger represented Slovenia in 1995.
