The Norwegian Final was held on March 5th at the Spektrum in Oslo, hosted by Ivar Dyrhaug. The winner was chosen in two rounds of televoting - the first to select the top 4 and the second to select the winner. The results of the first round were not revealed.

Jahn Teigen represented Norway in ESC 1978, 1982 and 1983.
One of the members of Seppo was Tor Endresen who represented Norway in ESC 1997 and was a backing singer for Norway in ESC 1988.
Wig Wam previously came 3rd in the 2004 Norwegian Final. The lead singer of the group also came 3rd in the 1998 Norwegian Final under the name G'sten. At the ESC, Wig Wam came equal 9th.
