The Finnish Semi-Final was held during the first week in January on Radio Suomi. The 6 finalists were chosen by televoting (8,500 votes cast) and postcard voting (300-400 votes cast). There was a little scandal in the semi-final as a few hours before the voting ended both Ultra Bra and Micke Grahn were informed that they had qualified for the final, then in the last few hours the situation changed with 2 other songs qualifying instead (thought to be The Reseptors and Nina Åström).
