The Danish Final was held at the Forum Horsens in Horsens on February 12th, hosted by Jarl Friis-Mikkelsen, Birthe Kjær (who represented Denmark in 1989) and Annette Heick. The winner was chosen in two rounds of televoting - the first to select the top 5 and the second to select the winner.

Brødrene Olsen won the 2000 ESC. Amongst their backing singers was Kayo who represented Sweden in the 2002 ESC as a member of Afro-Dite. Jakob Sveistrup performed the song in English as "Talking to you" at the ESC, where he came equal 9th. Amongst his backing singers was Kenny Lübcke who represented Denmark in ESC 1992.
