"There's a picture of you on my table and it brings back memories, 'cos you're the one that I want"
The Danish Final was held on February 17th at the Herning Conference Centre, hosted by Keld Heick. Each song was introduced by a previous winner of the Danish Final - The Olsen Brothers, Anders Frandsen, Kølig Kaj, Christian Have, Gry Johansen, Birthe Kjaer, Lotte Feder, Bjorn Tidmand, Anne Herdorf and Michael Teschl & Trine Jepsen. The winning song was chosen by televoting (80%) and an "expert" jury (20%) in two rounds of voting - firstly to select the best 5 songs, and then to select the winner. The "expert" jury included Birthe Wilke who represented Denmark in 1957 and 1959.

The lead singer of the 'Parber Kerstein Band' was Kenny Lübcke who represented Denmark in 1992, and was a backing singer for Denmark in the 1999 Eurovision. Helge Engelbrecht was a member of the group Bandjo that represented Denmark in 1987 along with Anne Cathrine Herdorf. Rollo & King performed their song in English at the Eurovision as "Never ever let you go", and they came 2nd.
