The Croatian Final was held on March 4th at the Crystal Ballroom of the Hotel Kvarner in Opatija, hosted by Duško Curlic, Mirko Fodor, Emilija Kokic (ESC 1989 - lead singer of Riva) & Vesna Pisarovic (ESC 2002). Before the final there were 2 semi-finals - click here for details: CROATIAN SEMI-FINALS 2006 The winner was chosen by an "expert" jury (50%) and televoting (50%).

Severina previously came 8th in the 2000 Croatian Final. At the ESC she was equal 12th. Magazin represented Croatia in ESC 1995. Danijela Martinovic represented Croatia in ESC 1995 (as lead singer of Magazin) and 1998.
