The Croatian Final was held at the HRT TV Studios in Zagreb on March 4th, hosted by Bojana Gregoric and Dusko Curlic. The winner was chosen by a mixture of 5 regional juries, 4 televoting regions, internet voting and an "expert" jury.

Vanna previously came 2nd in last years Croatian Final. At the Eurovision she performed her song in English as "Strings of my heart" and came 10th.
Tereza Kesovija represented Monaco in 1966 and Yugoslavia in 1972.
Putokazi represented Croatia in 1993 (under a different line-up).
Novi Fosili represented Yugoslavia in 1987 (under a different line-up).
Vladimir Kocis-Zec was a member of the group Novi Fosili when they represented Yugoslavia in 1987.
Toni Cetinski represented Croatia in 1994.
Emilia Kokic was lead singer of the group Riva that won the 1989 Eurovision.
