AUSTRIA

"Keine mauern mehr" - Simone

"About the same time last year nobody thought that our move for freedom would jump ahead"

The Austrian final was held on March 15th in Studio Z1 of the ORF-Zentrum in Vienna, hosted by Lizzi Engstler who represented Austria in ESC 1982 in the duo Mess. The winning song was chosen by a mixture of televoting (50%) and an "expert" jury (50%). The scores shown are the combined percentages from both the "experts" and televoting. Duett were subsequently disqualified when it was discovered that they had already taken part in the 1988 German semi-final with "Das beste".
