The Yugoslav Final was held on March 12th at the TV Studios in Ljubljana, hosted by Misa Molk.  The winning song was chosen by the votes of 8 regional juries.

Aska had provided backing vocals for all songs in the 1981 Yugoslav Final.  At the Eurovision they came 14th. Seid Memic-Vajta represented Yugoslavia in 1981.
