"Ne mogu skriti svoju bol" - Ambasadori
The Yugoslav Final was held at the Hotel Kvarner in Opatija on February 20th and 21st, hosted by Oliver Mlakar. All 21 songs were performed on the first evening (broadcast on the radio only), and 14 of the songs went through to the TV final the next day. However, the winning song was chosen by a jury of 8 "experts" who voted on all 21 of the songs, awarding each a mark between 1-10.

Ambasadori came 18th at the Eurovision. They had previously taken part in the 1973 and 1975 Yugoslav semi-finals. Dubrovacki Trubaduri represented Yugoslavia in 1968, while Pepel In Kri did the same in 1975. Oto Pester was a member of the group Pepel in Kri in 1975.
