The Swiss Final was held at the DRS TV Studios in Zürich, hosted by Paola del Medico who had represented Switzerland in ESC 1969 & 1980. The winning song was chosen by the votes of 3 regional juries, a press jury and a jury of "experts".

One of the members of Lily Lilas was Véronique Müller who represented Switzerland in ESC 1972. Daniela Simons previously came 9th in the 1983 Swiss Final and 2nd in 1985. At the ESC, she came 2nd.
