The Norwegian Final was held on March 30th at the Château Neuf in Oslo, hosted by Rita Westvik. The winning song was chosen by the votes of 5 regional juries and 4 "experts" (one of whom was Anne-Marie David who won ESC 1973 and represented France in 1979).

Bobbysocks were Hanne Krogh & Elisabeth Andreasson. Hanne Krogh previously represented Norway in ESC 1971. She also took part in the 1972 Norwegian Final & came 8th in 1979. Elisabeth Andreasson was previously one half of Chips that represented Sweden in ESC 1982. She was also 2nd in the 1981 Swedish Final and took part in 1984. Bobbysocks went on to win the ESC. Anita Skorgan represented Norway in ESC 1977, 1979 & 1982 as well as being a backing singer for Norway in 1981 & 1983.
