"Mata Hari" - Anne Karine Strøm
The Norwegian Final was held on February 7th at the NRK TV Studios in Oslo, hosted by Jan Voigt. Each of the songs were performed twice (by different performers) - firstly with a small band, and secondly with an orchestra. The winner was chosen by the votes of 10 regional juries, each of which had 150 members.

Anne Karine Strøm had already represented Norway in 1973 (in the group 'Bendik Singers') and 1974. She also took part in the Norwegian Finals of 1971 (10th), 1972 (4th) and 1975 (4th). As well as winning the 1973 Norwegian Final, she also came 2nd equal. At the Eurovision she was 17th.
