The Finnish final was held on February 13th at the Kulttuuritalo in Helsinki, hosted by Sini Sovijärvi. The winning song was chosen by the votes of 6 regional juries.

Boulevard were previously backing singers for Finland in ESC 1987. At the ESC, they came 20th. Ami Aspelund represented Finland in ESC 1983, and Sonja Lumme did the same in 1985.
