LAX Meeting minutes October 2, 2007 Ellen Hofman’s residence

In Attendance: G. Osborne, R. Strickland, D. Landeen (Root), E. Hofman (Harkey), K. Larsen

Kim Allen will not be able to be a board member this year. Richard Strickland will act as secretary as well as webmaster.

Bobby couldn’t attend tonight, but said that he could attend Homecoming on Friday. Sam O, Kevin & Craig H., Chris L., Corbin, Patrick M., Santa, get Cole, Grant, Sage. We asked permission so as not to conflict with a potential cheerleader halftime show, but there is no conflict. Glen O. has the key to the storeroom & can get a goal for half-field play. Kelly has jerseys.

We discussed preparing a brochure for homecoming, with contact and cost information. Fees are likely to be at least $200 this year. We will defer discussion of a final amount pending information of field expenses & online registration fees. There will still be a jersey deposit (($125 last year). We are looking at online registration that would allow fees to be charged to a credit card and would spare the parent board collecting money from other parents. We observed one site called “Count Me In.” That site will not substitute for collecting deposit checks for jerseys. We will not hand out jerseys this year before a deposit check is submitted. Players will still need to undergo physicals and submit medical forms to the school as before.

Plan is to move the LAX web site from yahoo to Halesports.org/admin/admin.php. Kevin Larsen is moderator for wrestling & gave a tour. There is a public site and a team site for all sports. There is a calendar, replacement email list and space for photos. We need to add the athletic handbook (from Kevin). Kevin will give Richard a lesson.

Next meeting Wednesday Nov. 7 at Ellen’s house again.
