| This is the 1979 MGB I bought in the early spring of 1999 from a family in northwestern TN. It was a solid, rust free car at purchase, but had been sitting a while and needed a lot of work. I replaced or rebuilt virtually all of the external engine components, i.e. distributor, carb, ignition coil, wiring, etc. I put in new carpet and repaired some tears and flaws in the interior. I had to remove about 7 gallons of Wal-Mart chrome spray paint from the bumbers...I guess one of the DPO's (Dreaded Previous Owners) decided he wanted a chrome bumpered 'B ....sheesh!! The wheels were sanded and repainted the factioy original colors and sealed with clearcoat. A new top was put on as well as rebuilt shocks all around and a totally rebuilt front suspension assembly. I also removed the factory smog equipment for the sake of getting back some of the performance it strangles out. In the end, it was a very nice car to drive. There is just something special about old british sports cars that you have to experience to understand. I loved driving this MG...nice quick, neutral handling. I sold it in July '01 to a gentleman in Minnesota. I hope he has as much fun with it as I did! |
