Fleet doctrine:
The main armaments seen on FAS ships are medium sized beam weapons. A few ships are armed with missile systems that are mainly used on convoy and border raids. All ships (even the massive leviathan class SDN) have a thrust rating of 5. FAS ships also have a moderate hull strength with a layer of armour for added protection. Fighter carriers are not used, as the small FAS population cannot support the expendable people that are needed to replace losses. The crew conditions better than any of the major super powers. With the lack of fighter support most FAS ships are equipped area defense fire control.
