WWF COMES TO WILKES-BARRE

On Wednesday, March 27, the WWF brought the last of its house shows before "the brand extension" to the First Union Arena in Wilkes-Barre, PA.

Christian -vs- DDP
DDP defeats Christian with the Diamond Cutter

NOTES:  GREAT opener.  Christian's was over with the crowd until he made fun of the town.  DDP plays well with any crowd.  Nice ending to the match, going back and forth with DDP catching the unexpected Diamond Cutter.  Christian also threw a nice tantrum after the match...but more in response to the crowd's desire for it.

Jazz -vs- Mighty Molly (FOR WOMEN'S TITLE)
Jazz makes Molly tap out in the STF

NOTES:  Jazz took some time before she let go, but Molly stayed in it a while before she tapped.  Interesting to note, Molly WAS NOT in "Might Molly" gear.  I figured out why I don't go for Jazz.  She's not a convincing heel - she's trying to be a vicious brute, but wrestles like she's overly technical.

Billy and Chucky w/ Rico Constantino -vs- The Hardy Boys (FOR TAG TITLES)
Billy and Chucky win again

NOTES:  What's with Rico's Lash Lareaux look?  The Hardys couldn't be any more over with the crowd.  Rico is a great manager (who ever said male managers suck?) and works well.  Personally, he kind of outshines Billy and Chucky as he's even more subtle in what he does, but he's also very introcate and elaborate in doing it.

Brock Lesnar -vs- Spike Dudley
Brock crushes Spike, but The Hurricane runs in afterwards, but then gets himself destroyed

NOTES:  Crowd as first was disappointed that the announced handicapped was now just Brock facing Spike.  For the man who tossed around Rikishi looked like he was struggling to pick up Spike.  Good look, outside of the babyface, and has a way to go (I.e. slipping up with picking up Spike and almost dropping him on his head ).  For those close to ring side know why Paul Heyman (not there) must be speaking for him.  Lesnar's baby face is matched by his voice.  Hurricane comes out (his mask is really cool in person) at end of match and also gets destroyed.

RVD -vs- William Regal (FOR INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE)
RVD retains his title with a 5-star frog splash

NOTES:  Nice match.  Regal can really get the people to hate him easily.

The Dudleys -vs- APA w/ Stacy Keibler
The APA wins with Bradshaw's clothesline from hell on D'von.  But afterwards, The Dudleys grab a table and put Bradshaw through it.

NOTES:  After the match, they all got on the mic and talked about the end of the two teams and all shared beers, along with the ref and Stacy.

Booker T -vs- Tazz
Booker T with the scissors kick

NOTES:  Personally, I thought this match had a lot more potential then what we actually saw from it.  Tazz is a great wrestler and people just couldn't get into Booker T.  Match was right after intermission and people didn't go for it.

Rikishi -vs- Scott Hall
Scott Hall with feet on ropes

NOTES:  Scott Hall did a lot of running on this one, finally getting hit with a Stinkface, but then blocks the Bonsai drop and uses his feet on the ropes to pin Hall.

Triple H -vs- Kevin Nash
Triple H with the Pedigree

NOTES:  X-Pac comes out first instead of Nash and offers Triple H a shirt and the chance to be in the nWo to reform "the klique".  But, Triple H says "the game" has changed.  Nash actually had most the match, but the pace was slower.  X-Pac tries to run interference, but hits Nash on accident.
