NEW FOR SUMMER 2005 ------------------------------------- MAGNATE ANNOUNCES EXCITING NEW VENTURE! We are pleased to announce that we have expanded our operations. Effective immediately, we are adding online commercials to our portfolio. For the last several years we have been producing cable programming and commercials in the New York Metropolitan Area, and now we are going to take our show internationally! As frequent visitors to eBay, we have discovered a whole new community. It reminds us of a tourist plaza with street fairs surrounded by large stores. Just like those popular shopping areas, the eBay community consists of regular people all around the world buying and selling each day, while eBay stores simultaneously provide merchandise to millions of visitors After visiting a large number of eBay stores, we started to realize the amazing variety of each store. Some shops utilize fancy HTML graphics while others just list their inventory. Recently, it occurred to us that we know how to write HTML, and we know how how to produce commercials, so why not just combine the two? Therefore it is with great pleasure that Magnate announces that we will now be producing commercials that can air on an embedded video player posted right in your eBay store. Read on as we explain how we can put this together for you. WHO? We are Magnate Productions, a video production company that has been operating out of Central New Jersey since 1994, and has evolved into a commercial video consulting firm. We started out by providing programming to local stations more than a decade ago, and expanded to New York City in 1999 when we started producing our restaurant program. Shortly thereafter we began producing cable commercials. In addition, we also advise local businesses that are looking to launch video marketing campaigns. WHAT? What we do is breathe life into concepts. We can take an idea and turn it into a video. Commercials are a great way to tell a story in a very short period of time. This format allows us to utilize every second and each shot as wisely as possible. We actually started producing commercials during production of our restaurant program when we realized how much we had learned about those establishments. This provided us with valuable information that we used to produce high quality commercials. As a result, we interview you before we shoot to find out more about the "hidden treasures" of your business. WHERE? Our geographical locations used to limit us, but now thanks to email, the world is our oyster. We are based in NJ, and in the old days, we would travel to each shoot and then to our various post production facilities. However, with the advent of technology, all this can be accomplished from one centralized location. All of our content is handled at our office so we can do all of our editing, HTML coding, and production work from one location. We also think that the reduction in travel time will also greatly increase the time we can spend puting our spots together. WHEN We have always worked under tight deadlines so it is entirely up to you when you need your spot to run at your store. Usually we need about a week to get the spot ready for you, but if you need it sooner, we will get the job done. HOW First, we will cover how we do it. All we need are pictures from your store. We can take them right from the store ourselves, or you can email them to us. We can also do a "virtual shoot" for any video you want to use. If you want to produce a slide show, we can add effects that will create movement, and make it look like it was shot by a video camera. If you are located within the New York Metropolitan area, we will provide a camera crew for you. Then we edit the spot together and upload it to our hosting website. After that, we send you the HTML code which you simply cut and paste and place on your site. The code includes an embedded video player so visitors to your store will see the video player. All they need to do is click the play button and the spot will play. Cable modem hookups take seconds to download, dial up and DSL take a few minutes depending on the speed of the user's computer. How much does it cost? if you are able to provide the pictures or if we do a "virtual shoot", the cost for producing, editing, uploading, and coding is $100 plus a $10 monthly hosting fee to rent the bandwidth from our hosting site. We will do a second (and subsequent) spot for an additional $50. If you are in the New York Metropolitan Area, and you need a crew for a shoot, we can provide one for an additional fee. We wouild strongly advise that you shoot enough footage to produce more than one spot so you get the most for your crew fee. There is no extra fee to shoot additional footage if it is shot on the same day. WHY? Why do we do this? To paraphrase the Mickey Mouse Club... because we like to! And the passion to create excellent work is a key aspect to creating a successful video production. Why should you do this? Because it is a cost effective way to make your eBay store stand out among the others, and a great way to use another medium to add a new dimension that will effectively show off your eBay store. This is a great way to attract new customers by creating awareness about your business. Each spot is written, produced, and edited by our crew. We actually started producing commercials during production of our restaurant show, as we realized how much we were learning about these establishments. This provided us with valuable information that was then used to produce high quality commercials. As a result, we interview you before we shoot to find out more about the "hidden treasures" of your business. As part of our current promotion, the production fees are $775, but if you refer us to a new client, the cost is $575. Starting this year, we are now doing multiple spots, and more advanced advertising campaigns. You can even produce seasonal spots, or even holiday promotions for next Christmas! The investment for additional spots is based on a sliding scale starting at $125 for the second spot, as long as the footage is shot on the same day. For a long form video, the fee is $775 plus editing costs which are based on the video's running time and graphics. Again, all footage must be shot on the same day. SOME IMPORTANT FACTS 1. All cable networks allocate several minutes per hour for spots. Some of these spots are national; the rest are local. This works to your advantage because cable networks specifically tailor their programming to certain audiences. Then you can carefully choose which channels to run your spots on, based on what kind of demographic you want to attract. 2. Spots are not purchased from the cable networks, but through the cable system that covers that geographical region. We will make all of the arrangements to have a cable representative sign you up for the time slots and channels that you request. 3. We have seen that the key to a successful cable campaign is carefully placing your spots on the right channels. We will guide you through each step, so that ultimately, you will generate more business. Then once new customers start coming in, the key is to get them to become regulars. If your business has a lot of repeat clientele, then this is the marketing campaign for you! We work closely with the cable companies to develop promotional campaigns that have proven and profitable track records. ABOUT OUR CREWS Our production team brings years of experience to each project. Our camera crew is based right here in New Jersey, and shoots all of our cable shows. Our editing team has extensive post production experience. Their work has aired nationally, and they have produced some of the most effective political spots in New Jersey. IMPORTANT INFORMATIVE LINKS The first link is for The Cable Television Advertising Bureau, a national organization that provides valuable facts and figures about how you can turn a profit by doing a cable ad campaign. The url is http://www.onetvworld.org Also, they offer to sell a book about cable ad markets. There is no need for that, since we are also providing you with a map of New Jersey that shows all of the cable systems, the towns they cover, and valuable marketing information. The url for the state map is http://ctvaa.com/njmain.htm Finally, we also found a fantastic article about restaurants using cable advertising in a profitable manner. That article can be found at http://www.restaurant.org/business/magArticle.cfm?ArticleID=508 MAGNATE'S BACKGROUND We were started by Nate Kean back in the mid 90's. Earlier in the 90's while hosting a talk show on WNNJ radio in Northwest New Jersey, a new TV station offered Nate an opportunity to do a television version of that radio show. While at this station, he and news anchorwoman Jacquie Jordan teamed up to produce some independent local programming that aired on cable stations in Northwest New Jersey. From there, Nate went on to produce COMEDY NIGHT, a talk show featuring stand up comedians that aired on several cable systems in New Jersey. After that he and Jacquie teamed up again, this time as co hosts of THE BIG TIPPERS CLUB, a program about restaurants in New York City. Nate flew solo when Jacquie left after the first season and relocated to California, where she has become an Emmy nominated TV producer! At the same time, we developed Jewelry Showcase, a program about Jewelry that aired in 2000 and 2001. That program was hosted by Nate, Lisa Strunin, (who commuted to NJ from MA), and the owners of two popular jewelry stores in Central Jersey. After that program aired, we produced a commercial for one of the jewelers and started concentrating more on commercial video consulting, and the restaurant programming. Incidentally, the jewelry segments about diamonds must have made an impact on Nate, because last September he married Marnie. The two of them now reside in Central New Jersey, and are not in any way related to the NBC program Commited which also features a couple named Marnie and Nate. Oddly enough there is also a band at the Jersey shore called Marnie and Nate. SOME OF OUR PAST COMMERCIALS Some of the commercials we have produced in the past include AM Jewelers in Clark, Rossiya Travel, Dominick's Restaurant in Woodbridge, La Grotta Degli Amici in Millburn. Fino in Manhattan, Fere Jacques in Manhattan, Stelton Lumber in Piscataway, and Gabriele's Restaurant in Piscataway. A tape containing these spots is available on request. MORE ABOUT OUR CREWS When it comes to post production, you can see that the pace and smooth look is due to the great work done by Paul Mencher of Mugs Media. Mugs is based in Newton, New Jersey, where they have all of the latest computer editing systems, and a great crew that is up to date on all of the high tech gadgetry. The music.... One of the brightest additions to our shows, and some of our spots has been Jairous Parker. This New Jersey resident has composed all of the background music heard on our shows, and has been featured in some of our commercials. The combination of his compositions and the performances by Synsoul have given our shows an improved quality.
