| Camp Invention |
| How it all Started.... The thursday before the week of actual camp we were supposed to go and help set up. This was the frist time I had to get up earlier than 11 this summer. It kicked my ass. We moved tables and chairs. Scott Poole and I were the only ones that were there. Brandon did show up later, but that was much later. Oh yeah, Jessi was around too, but I don't think she was helping out.. These pictures of me and scott were taken after we were done with that first day. Fun Fun Fun. |

| I was in charge of the 6th Graders. AHH!!! Middle Schoolers!!! I only had 12 kids though. Some people had more than twice that much. We had to name our group after famous inventors. We were given a list of names. I got dibs on the Zeppelin group. That's right, Mr. Zeppelin invented the navigational air balloon. I played a Led Zeplin CD for the kids. We had the Coolest name of all the groups. Each day we went to five different classes. The first class we went to each day was Marbelous inventions. The kids learned about physics and stuff using marbles. I didn't like the class very much. I know a lot about physics and the teacher of the class didn't know very much about physics. I filled Jim in on some of the more complicated ideas that the teacher didn't get into. (Jim was one of my students who was very much interrested by physics.) I didn't like that class very much, so I'm not gonna say much more about it. |
| The next class we went to was called "Dig it up". We liked to call it "Dig Shit Up". Shelby helped out the lady that taught this class. The kids learned about ancient Native American civilizations. Some kids knew the material better than the teacher. I don't know anything about Indians, so I didn't know. But Shelby filled me in on how the teacher was off on a few things. Some kids really know their shit. Shelby's calm, relazing attitude was rather soothing during this second class. |
