| Your God-like Best I went walking down the street To find someone to meet I never thought I'd find him there Standing in his underwear The rain came pouring down He said "I will drown" So I took him home with me Although he was my enemy You can't always hate everyone you meet You will never know How to be complete You can't always be Your God-like best You live your life Like all the rest The other day I shot a man Then I dropped the gun and ran I never thought I'd see his face Shattered like a broken vase That night I prayed to God Though he did not applaud I thought I saw him smile Somthing like a crocodile You can't always hate everyone you meet You will never know How to be complete You can't always be Your God-like best You live your life Like all the rest Later at the Grocery Store I saw a woman at the door I thought I fell in love with her Although right now I cant be sure I let her walk away from me I stared at her absently So I bought some bread instead With everything I have mislead By Nate Cornelius (copywritten) |
| Commentary by Author This poem doesn't really mean a lot. One day I just decided I should write, so I wrote this. The verses really mean nothing at all, but I think the refrain has some truth in it Also, If I ever develope any musical talent, I think this poem might make some good lyrics. |
