From Pittsburgh and the northwest -I-79 South to Rt. 19 South -I-77 South (This is a toll Rd... you'll need a few bucks). -About 15 minutes after the last toll booth, look for signs for Princeton, WV or 460. -Get off of I-77 at 460 and turn left at the light. You'll be on 460 East for about 45 minutes. -When you pass Newport and come down a long incline, get in the left lane and look for the sign for Blacksburg, 460 Bus (Business). -Turn left on 460 Bus towards Blacksburg. -Turn left at your second light onto Progress St. -Take your first left on the way up the hill onto Virginia St. - Turn left onto Montgomery St. and park on your immediate left in front of the house on the corner. That will be us... 817 Montgomery St. From DC and the northeast: - I-66 west to I-81 south - Stay on I-81 south through Roanoke - Follow "Directions common to both" below From Raleigh and the south (Interstate): - I-40 west to I-40 west, business (at Winston Salem) - Take exit for Rt. 52 north - Stay on Rt. 52 north until it turns into I-74. - Follow signs to I-77 north (bear right). - I-77 north into Virginia to I-81 North. - Follow rest of directions below From Raleigh (the 'back' way - faster and more scenic): - I-40 west until it merges with I-85 - Take Rt. 86 Truck West/North Exit and follow signs to 86 (North or West) - 86 will take you to Danville, VA. At Danville, take the right-hand exit to get on 58 West. - At Martinsville, VA, follow signs for 58 West or 220 North... this will take you on the bypass around Martinsville. - Look for an exit to stay on 58 West and take that exit. - Follow signs to stay on 58 West. - Look for signs for Rt. 8 North and take the right on Rt. 8 when you see it. - Go up and down the mountain, past the Blue Ridge Parkway, go thru the town of Floyd. - When you get to I-81, take the exit for I-81-North - Follow rest of directions below... ...Directions common to DC and Raleigh: - Stay on I-81... When you get to Christiansburg (around mile marker 118) take Exit 118B ...this should be the Blacksburg exit, Rt. 460 Bypass west. You can even just follow signs for Blacksburg or VA Tech. -You will pass exits for Pepper's Ferry Rd. and 460 business to Blacksburg... - Stay on the 460 Bypass. Go through a light at Southgate Drive (VA Tech south enterance) - The next exit is Prices Fork Rd. Take the "Downtown", or first exit on your right (it won't say "Prices Fork" on the exit... it will only say "Downtown". - Merge onto Prices fork and stay on it through 3 lights. The road ends at the 4th light (Main St.) - Turn left onto Main St. ### - The next light is Progress Street; Turn Right on Progress St. and go up the hill. The first left on the way up the hill is Virginia Street. - Turn left on Virginia Street and go one block to the stop sign at the end of the street (our house is now on your left). - Turn left onto Montgomery Street and park on your immediate left in front of the house. - Our house will be on the left at the corner of Virginia and Montgomery Streets. I'm coming down 460 business thru downtown Blacksburg: Go thru downtown Blacksburg and go through lights at Turner St. and Prices Fork (Should be a Video store on the right) - You can now rejoin the directions above at the "###" sign. |
