I have been showing dogs successfuly since the dear age of five, when I walked into the Pee-Wee class in juniors with "Sunshine" a German Shepherd puppy on the end of the lead, and came in first. Ever since then I have been hooked into the dog show world, and no one has been able to pull me away.
I started in the show world with Rough and Smooth Collies along with my step father "Gordon" and mother "Tracey" under the prefix (Cardross Collies). As of right now only own one dog "Deacon" which he is co-own with Beth Rutherford, and Gordon Winstone. I hope one day that I will be able to take the collie to another level in breeding and showing.
This spring of 2007 I have finished my studies in school taking Human Services at NSCC, and a
Policing Foundations / Corrections course at a private College. However at this time I keep finding myself back at the shows, and working full time for Professional Handler Allison Alexander-Foley ( Leading Edge Handling Services), and I love it.
I am not sure what exactly I really want to do with my life at this point, but the thought that comes to mind is working with dogs.
Over the years in junior showmanship I have accomplished a few big goals, which are becoming the 2004 Overall Junior handler finals winner for Zone 1, Top Canadian Collie National Junior Handler in 2003, Receiving the most points in the SO class in NS with "2175" in 2003, also becoming the NS Reserve Overall Junior Handler of 2003. In 2002 I was also able to accomplish a big goal for myself, which was becoming the Overall Junior Handler in Zone 1 and going to the Canadian Junior handling Nationals which were held in my home town.
I have a few other plans in my life, which was to become a member of the RCMP or another Police agency. Maybe even work in the K-9 unit. This may still happen down the road.
