An Online TV Station

First of all before you build an online TV station, you have to have an VDO camera to record what you are going to put it online. Once you record the video, you have to transfer it to computer. The next step is to edit it by using the video editing tools. Video editing is both an Artistic and Technical process in which a collection of video material (footage) is compiled and altered from its original form to create a new version. The artistic process of video editing consists of deciding what elements to retain, delete, or combine from various sources so that they come together in an organized, logical, and visually pleasing manner. The technical process of video editing consists of copying the various elements onto a single video tape (or CD Rom, or other media) for final viewing or distribution. There are two types of video editing:

Linear Editing - This process is basically mechanical inn nature, in that it employs the use of Camcorders, VCR's, Edit Controllers, Titlers, and Mixers to perform the edit functions. This editing technique is performed in linear steps, one cut at a time (or a series of programmed cuts) to its conclusion.

Non-Linear Editing - Gaining in popularity quickly due to addvances in technology, pricing, and product availability, this method of video editing utilizes the computer environment to aid in the editing process. This process is almost entirely digital and employs no mechanical functions except for the input of the video sources and its final output to Tape or CD. Editing in this environment is essentially is a visual Cut-and-Paste method.

Digital Media Converter is one of the tools that use for converting video. Digital Media Converter makes it easy for you to convert your video and audio files from one format to another. Now you can organize and batch convert all your video and audio files between: VCD, DVD, AVI (DivX, MS MPEG4, uncompressed, etc), MPEG-1, MPEG-2 (PAL, NTSC), MP3, MOV, WMA, WMV, and WAV formats. Making VCD and DVD format files is simple with Digital Media Converter. You can do even more, such as extracting the audio from the video and saving just the audio tracks. You can use the advanced settings to change the video frame size, audio / video compression codec, frequency, and the number of channels of in an audio stream. The program's mass conversion capability lets you multi-select files and add entire folders for conversion. It gives you complete control over the files that you want to convert. Digital Media Converter uses the Microsoft DirectShow technology and can therefore convert faster than other conventional products. You do not need to be a professional to use this tool. The software provides default settings and auto-select features that gives you high quality and low size conversions.

Digital Audio and Video Editing

Whether you want to create music for a CD, produce your own movie DVD, or build a website containing video clips, you'll need to learn some basic audio and video editing. Luckily, it's easy!

Video for the Web Keep your movies short. For example, create multiple short segments if your video is over five minutes. A typical 28.8 Internet connection downloads videos at about 3.5KB/sec so it would take over 3 hours to download a 40MB file. Limit quick action. If fluid action is needed, download rather than stream the video.

Digital Video Editingb Digital video production has become a popular alternative to traditional video editing. With a digital camera, a firewire cable, and a digital video compatible computer, you can produce high-quality videos without many of the hassles of traditional video editing. If you don't have a digital video camera, you can still import video from an older camera or VCR into your computer with a special video digitizing card or capture device.

There is also the software called Windows XP Media Center which allows content stored on a Media Center PC to be shown on, and remotely controlled by, a television set. While one person is using it to watch a TV program or play music stored on a Media Center PC, someone else can be simultaneously running a PC app. How a Media Center PC will connect to a TV client is still up in the air. There will probably be a hardwired option of some sort, and the first implementation of concurrent computing and TV viewing will probably require a wired connection. But when the client ships, it will connect through the air via 802.11g.
