Hi there and welcome to the debut (?) of a new online art scene. My goodness, look at the length of this section @_@ Okay, well, don't let all the reading scare you off, continue and I'm sure that you'll find this section quite interesting.

So I was browsing around ebay one day (ebay, my friend and saviour in the deepest, darkest hours of boredom.. hahaha a bit melodramatic, or?), just checking the fanart scene out, when something interesting caught my attention. I figured I'd give one of these comission auctions a go and see how things work out.

It's pretty hard, these days, for artists to really make use of their talents, especially the anime/manga fans. I'm one of these people I talk about. I love to draw. I love drawing all kinds of things, mostly anime/manga related. I love doing these drawings in many different styles, making use of many different types of media, often mixing two or three completely different types of media in one piece (makes things more interesting and the result sometimes is a lot nicer, than if only one type of media is used). In other words, I like to "experiment" (I guess you could call it) with art. I remember when I first started drawing manga/anime related drawings.. it was quite a challenge those days, even for me, who had been drawing all kinds of things ever since I can remember... I've now had a few years experience drawing in typical anime/manga style, so I think I can confidently say that I've gotten quite good at it (it's become a hobby, so...)

Well, whatever, I'll shut up about why I'm drawing and get to the point.

I'm going to list an auction on ebay on July 27th and give this fan art by commision a go. This will be me first and perhaps even only auction to be listed for this item. The success of this auction will determine, whether or not I will continue to offer my work to others via the internet. Usually I'm used to only drawing for myself (I decorate my room only with material that was done by yours truly), or very close friends/family of mine, but these days, since I finished my college education, it being summer and all, I find that I have a lot more time on my hands then I would like.

You are bidding on an anime/manga/videogame/original commission auction, signed and dated by myself (signature and date will be small and won't be in the way, so don't worry) for the minimum amount of USD $20.00. This means that I will draw any character(s) of any anime, manga and/or video game (I don't really care about the number of characters per item. I do; however, suggest 2 characters per product.. don't want things to appear cramped, now do we?) the winner of this auction would like, in the style that the winner prefers. You're probably confused now, but that's okay.. keep reading and I'm sure you'll understand.

What the auction is all about:

a custom anime/manga/videogame/original drawing/poster/sketch.. whatever you want, based on your criteria/specifications!

(About the) item is based on...:

Anime and manga, I think, speak for themselves.

Videogame characters should be characters drawn in an anime style. Don't expect me to draw like I don't know, the zombies from resident evil. I can draw the main characters, no problem... in anime/manga style.

Original means that the character can be a character you made up. It can be yourself, if you want. Just be sure to be extra descriptive if this is the case. Tell me what eye colour/style hair colour/style etc.

My style! Hihi, my favorite... characters I made up myself. I do these in lots of different styles, so I dunno, whatever. Most probably you will like it. If you don't like my style, then I'll replace it with another piece of your choice in one of the above categories.

Of course, there are a few rules involved.

  • I'd like to keep it on a semi-appropriate level, at least. (What I mean with this, is that I'm not willing to draw any hard core nasty hentai/nudity/gore scenes.) light situations/yaoi is no problem for me.. I read that stuff too :P, but come on people, we want a nice piece of work to result, don't we?

  • I reserve the right to determine what is and is not appropriate. (Don't worry, most probably I will approve of your options.. if not, I'll let you know and provide you with suggestions. If we don't come to an agreement, well, then the auction, I guess will be void and I won't charge you/you won't receive an item)

I will draw mecha, but this depends on how high the auction ends up going for. Mecha is kind of tricky to draw.. it's not very fun to draw either, since you can't really add facial expressions etc.

Also, if you want me to draw something I'm not so fammiliar with, I kindly ask you to provide me with a reference to look at. Probably I am fammiliar with whatever it is you want me to draw, but sometimes there are exceptions. In this case, I will contact you with a request for a piece of referance (could be a scanned pic, or just the original name of the title so I can do my research.. or a website.. whatever).

Here are a few suggestions, to make the finished product more interesting for you:

  • request any anime/manga style! As I previously mentioned, I like a challenge. I like to draw the characters of different animes in the style of other animes. Surely, if you have watched lots of anime or read different types of manga in the past, you'll have noticed that they are often drawn in various different styles. Most anime/manga artists have their own styles. Sometimes you have a favorite anime, but prefer the style of a different artist (for example, I love toshinden. Often I'll draw the characters of my favorite videogames in a more toshinden-ish type of style)... I might have to ask for a referance, if I'm not familiar with the style of your choice.

  • be descriptive! Yeah, umn it would be great if I knew what it is you want me to draw. Just let me know the basics... who, what, where, in what situation etc. Don't worry, I'll make suggestions before doing anything, so I'm sure things will turn out great and you'll be satisfied.

  • make use of your options! You can chose the media of the finished product. Mix and match, if you like.. you can be creative too! I'll just be doing the work :P

    The options of media are:

  • Pencil: (My favorite! I enjoy doing these. 90% of my sketchbook is composed of these)

  • Charcoal: (similar to pencil, but more intense/dark)

  • Aqua paint: (one of my favorites ^_^ I like to do my posters with this media)

  • Oil Pastels: (crayons basically, but unlike regular crayons, which are made of wax, these are made of oil. The colours are more intense and there are more intersting/different ways to make use of them :P)

  • Ink drawing: (these can look pretty cool, often found in manga books.. there's minimum shading and no colours involved. Just black on a white background. I suggest you go for the A4 size if this is the media of your choice. It wouldn't make much sense to have a poster in this style)

  • Markers: These turn out pretty nice, actually. I usually do this style on a heavier type of poster paper.

  • Digital: I can do a nice, crisp pic (like the ink drawing), then scan it in and use the computer to colour/shade/make the background and add effects. The finished product will then be printed on high quality paper (I have a good printer also, so don't worry about the quality of the finished product), burned on a cd, r both (up to you.. you're the boss! ^_^).

**Note: Please note that if this is the option of your choice, the size of the finished product will be limited to the size of typical A4 letter paper only, since that's what my printer prints on.

I have two basic options of size available:

  • A4/Letter (standard)
  • Poster (approx. cm in height, cm in width)

Okay, well... umn, I guess that's all for now. The winner of the auction will receive the finished product, with all the sketches/whatever I draw in the process of creating the finished product plus constant updates on the status of his/her piece of art in progress via email.

Finished product can be framed, if requested. An additional charge may or may not be applied (depending on the amount the auction ends at).
