independent record label owner, as well as a songwriter, who pushed over
200,000 units. Gennessee is a visionary, and a voice of the people and the
streets. He is creative control. Gennessee is hip-hop in its purest form....
Gennessee is waiting for his time to come. First heard on the critically
acclaimed Double Life 12" single "Revolutions" (b/w "No
Limitations and Regimens'") along side L*Roneous da' versifier this
record made noise on the college radio charts (CMJ), and received numerous
write-ups (Urb, Hip Hop Connection, etc..,). It didn't take long for the
classic Street Reporters EP "America Undercover" to follow. With
production by Paul Nice and an amazing reign on the charts of mp3, com, the
Street Reporters received a lot of press. Gennessee's next release,
"Definition of Nice", featured him with AG (DITC; Showbiz and AG),
and Dj Babu (World Famous Beat Junkies) got continuous spins on the Wake Up
Show, received a positive review in Vibe Magazine (March 2000 Issue), and was
added to the play list of hundreds of mix-tapes worldwide. The single
"So Now U A MC" followed. The song, featuring Gennessee trading
verses with legendary Juice Crew member Masta Ace (produced by Paul Nice and
The Creators), was released internationally on the Bad Magic label and
further stretched the fan base of a man who tours in |
