WHO WE ARE:
Detachment personnel is comprised of five police officers and several civilian members. In concert with other agencies and the citizens of the area including those of the Nisga'a Nation, the Lisims/Nass Valley Detachment strives to preserve the quality of life in our community by maintaining the Nass Valley as a safe place to live, work and visit. The Lisims/Nass Valley R.C.M.P. Detachment is located in the Nass Valley near Terrace, B.C. Canada. The detachment area is like no other. Located in the Nisga'a Territory, it is a place of pristine alpine beauty, unpolluted air, wild and raging rapids, ancient forests of giant cedar and hemlock, and dramatic landscapes of volcanic lava and glacial ice. An otherwise harsh climate is moderated by warm winds and cloud masses that drift in from the Pacific Ocean, bringing heavy rain and snow.MISSION STATEMENT:
We, the men and women of the Lisims/Nass Valley Detachment, are dedicated to providing excellent service through partnerships that build trust, reduce crime, create a safe environment, and enhance the quality of life in our community. With community service as our foundation, we will continue to seek solutions and foster a sense of security in communities and individuals. We nurture public trust by holding ourselves to the highest standards of performance and ethics. To fulfill our mission, the Lisims/Nass Valley Detachment is dedicated to providing a quality work environment and the development of its members through effective training and leadership.PROGRAMS:
In an effort to accomplish our goals set out in our Mission Statement, we have implemented a few programs into our community. The most prolific being the DARE Program. DARE is an acronym for Drug Abuse Resistance Education. It is a pro-active, progressive approach to helping kids deal with life pressures, specifically substance abuse.
