Monday, August 26th
Monday was our fun and relaxation day! We slept in nice and late, and then went to the Mason's. We were supposed to go to the beach but it was raining! :( But that didn't stop us from having a good time! Some of us ran around outside in the rain, and man did it rain! Puddles up past your ankles, it was bouncing off the road, it was just a lot of water! Then there was a HUGE thunder crash and we all screamed and took off inside again! After this adventure we decided to go to the straw market. It was a new experience for most of us to bargain for prices and have people trying to coax us to buy stuff! But it was fun and we all got a lot of souveneirs! We got some stuff cheaper because we were Canadian and polite :) After this the sky began to clear, so we went to the beach! The ride there was so hilarious.... *mental note: never try and put 25 people in a 15 seater bus!* We were so squat, it was actually funny, even though several of us were in a lot of pain! The beach was so amazing... we all kept saying "We're on a beach, in the Bahamas, with our entire youth group. HOW COOL IS THIS?!" The water was as warm as a bathtub!! We went snorkeling, had water fights, and Leanne spent some time getting gum out of Dave's hair :) Some people went for a walk along the beach, some sunbathed. It was so fun! After our joy had ended we went back to the Mason's, had chili, and went home for the evening. I would like to personally thank the Mason's for taking care of all of us so often!!! We had lots of food over there, checked our e-mail... we pratically invaded the house! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
