The paintings
are created in the painter's workshop in the classic byzantine style , on
a base made of lime-tree,
treated with a compound ground made of chalk powder and glue over the
canvas, to prevent the development of crackles
over time or directly on canvas , painted with tempera or oil colours.
The icons painted in oil are realised
by repeated overlapped colour touches ,in an elaborate time-lapsed
manner
that
confers to the final product a higher durability and superior artistic quality.
