The year of 1973 is remembered by many as the year when the court ruled in favor of abortion in the case of Rove Vs. Wade. It was that same year that the NRL had its first convention and later had its first march on Washington . Decades have gone by since that date; and still the NRL keeps on fighting. They push for every legislation, every ban, every act that they can think of to protect the unborn. Older folks can see how those March For Life rallies in Washington has grown  by the thousands. We have seen the partial-birth-abortion ban be signed by President Bush. Also the Unborn Victims of Violence  Act has been signed(I think this might be even better than focusing on one portion like the partial-birth-abortion because it is one step closer to recognizing the unborn as human, which is what we need to do). Another act before congress now is Sen. Sam Brownback's Unborn Child Pain Awareness Act. These two bills are taking us one step closer to complete victory because they strike out at the claim that the pro-choice side has always made " that babies are only human after birth". However, no matter how great some of the acts and legislation may be, I firmly feel that after more then three decades of fighting this way we should look for another tactic. The one thing that could crush Planned Parenthood and take it to utter defeat is for the president to issue an executive order. The executive-in-chief has the power to make such an order when he feels that it's necessary. The order would declare all unborn babies human with the protection under the Fifth Amendment to the Bill of Rights ? Nor shall any person ..........be deprived of life, liberty, or property without due process of law? . Right now there is nothing in the Constitution that suggests that an unborn child could be identified as a person. Therefor, what Planned Parenthood is doing is unconstitutional. No matter how evil it is, under the US. Constitution they are doing nothing wrong. It is only when unborn babies are declared humans that we can point to the Fifth Amendment and say that abortion is indeed illegal. As of yet, we have not had a republican or a democrat who will put principle ahead of  the party and perform the action that could be a driving, if not finishing, blow to the abortion industry. Ronald  Reagan, our most conservative of modern presidents, despite his good intentions, and his very staunch pro-life stand, failed in a way by not issuing an executive order. The main reason the George Bush has not done his duty and called for the order is basically because he is too afraid of his ratings going down. He may even want to do what is right, yet at the same time he just can't get himself to go against the popular opinion, which not many who wish to be re-elected can. This is why I would urge all pro-life voters to vote of Michael Peroutka for president. Mr. Peroutka has stated that he would not hesitate to use his power as commander-in-chief to issue an executive order declaring all unborn babies as human. He has commented that normally he would not approve of a president using his executive power for personal interest, yet he stated that he realizes what a crisis and national disgrace that Planned Parenthood is. Mr. Peroutka and his running mate rev. Chuck Baldwin have taken a stand for the unborn. We need to stop relying on either of the two major parties and vote for the man we feel would be the best champion for human life.
