The Toreador have been a major influence in the city since its conception. They inspired much of the art that overtook the city and put it on the world map. The music industry has been the lifeblood of Nashville for decades. Before that the Toreadors encouraged the development of local music such as bluegrass and gospel. They also continue to promote other artistic industries, from art museums to the recent architectural explosion.
The city had been run by the Ventrue since Kindred resided there. However, with as much control as the Toreadors held over the city, it was a matter of time until they took over. When a rogue Kindred from Charlotte destroyed the Ventrue Prince Matteus, the Toreador seized the opportunity to take control. A short 10-day war waged in the city, causing many Kindred to suffer final death. The Ventrue suffered most, and Roman Gaetan became the city's new Toreador Prince.
Now, Gaetan rules the city from his office in the Tennessee Performing Arts Center. He also maintains a residence atop the Loew's Vanderbilt Plaza. He allows Emma, his own childe, to act as Primogen, giving him an extra ally on the council. Grayson MacLeod earned a position as Roman's lieutenant during the war in 1996. He also runs the InfernoDome in downtown Nashville, a nightclub formerly owned by a Toreador who lost her unlife during that same war. |
