The Fake McCoys

GOOD TIME BLUEGRASS BAND
We're in it for a good time - so we make sure you have one too!

BAND LINEUP:

Bob Cameron Guitar and Vocals Bob has been picking and jamming for most of his life. Up until the fateful day he hooked up with Mike Bazdarick he specialized in Folk and Kids Music as well as jamming Blues and Rock around a case of beer with his cronies. Since starting the Fake McCoys with Mike he has become totally committed to playing bluegrass. He traded his electric for a mandolin and in April of 97 met and married the new love of his life - a Martin D-40.
Mike Bazdarick Banjo and Vocals A founding member of the Thunder Bay Bluegrass Jammers Association, Mike has been a mover and shaker in the bluegrass scene in Thunder Bay for years. He is totally dedicated to the traditional side of bluegrass and is often heard imploring the other members of "The Fake McCoys" to: KEEP IT BLUEGRASS! and complaining "That's not how Ralph does it!"
Jim Pike Guitar and Vocals Jim's voice sweet as sunshine. Like Bob, he was mainly playing folk until "The Fake McCoys" took over his life. He leans towards some of the more modern forms of bluegrass (much to Mikes chagrin) and is a big Ozark Mountian Daredevils fan. He does great versions of Standin' On A Rock and Fly Away.
Janet Creighton Scrub Board and Vocals A former "Sweet Adeline", Janet's background is folk and ladies barbershop. She picked up the scrub board when she joined the band and has never looked backed. It is Janet who makes looking at the band bearable but there is more to her than good looks. Her version of Bury Me Beneath The Willow will make the hairs stand up on the back of your neck.
Vance Czerwinski Bass and Vocals The newest member of the band, Vance has the unenviable task of picking up for former bassist Denis LeBlanc. Vance has been playing blues around town for quite a while and is also an accomplished electric guitar player. He is also, without a doubt, our most sane band member. He has already made an impact with his knowledge of harmony singing, sound systems and recording.

FORMER BAND MEMBERS:

Denis LeBlanc Bass Extrodinare Denis joined the band at the start and was undoubtably the best musician in the band. A dedicated bluesman before joining us, bluegrass has won him over. He recently moved to Winnipeg. Anyone in that part of the world looking for a great bass player should look him up! We sure miss him.
