Menwhile Nicolete is at Uppercuts on her lunch

break.

"So Nic how's the job been going?"Butch asks

"Oh its great. Keeping me real busy and I

am constantly on the move. I love it. I wouldn't be doing it if it weren't for .. . "

Just then her cell phone rings

"Hello"

"I need you to cover a breaking story." The voice on the other end says.

"Ok give me the details."

As the person on the other end gives Nic the details she is making mental

notes aloud.

"Fort Worth . . .Bank on Griffith St. . ..Explosion . . .A Ranger wounded

. .got it I am on my way." Hangs up

"Nic ,What's that all about?"

"Sorry Butch Gotta run Bank Explosion to cover talk to ya later." She says

running out the door. Moments later Nic arrives at the sceen. There

is debris everywhere. As she looks around for someone to question she spots

Walker's truck. Sudenly she remembers It was said a Ranger was injured.

She wonders for a quick minute if it was him. Nic decided if she could find

him maybe he could explain what happened. When she finds Walker he is arguing witha

paramedic about going to the hospital to be checked out.

"Hey Cordell What happened here?"

Surprised o see her"Nic what are you doing here?'"

"My editor sent me to cover the story. What happened?"

"We have got to get to Jen's I'll tell you on the way."

Walking to his truck Nic asks"Jen what does this have to do with her?"

"Roberts did this. He's out and he is going after her next. He thinks he

got me with the explosion. We have got to stop him."

"Oh God"

On the drive to Jen's Nic calls her editor. "Hello it's me Nic."

"Have you got anything on the bank explosion?"

"That's what I am calling about assign the

story to someone else . Please."

"Why Nic What's wrong?"

"Conflict of interest. I have found it has some personal Connections Please

re assign it."Nic says hanging up

Just then they pull up to Jen's.

Walker knocks on Jen's door. "It's me and Nic

,Jen this is important."

Trent opens the Door "Hi What are you two here

for?'

"Uncle Cordell I already told Micah I am not running. besides He's probably

forgotten about me."

"So you know he's out" Walker asks.

"Yes Micah told me earlier.'

"But Jen there is something you don't know"

Nic tells her.

"Yeah Jen he just came after me and Blew up a

bank trying he said he was coming for you next." Walker says.

Jen looks him up an down then notices that if fact he has been hurt.

":OH God NO! Are you Ok?" she asks

"I am fine now are you coming to the Ranch or are you going to be stubborn

as usual?'

Walker asks sternly.

Meanwhile Roberts is watching from across the

street waiting to make a move, and thinking to himself:::Damn I didn't

get him::: He'd hoped to get Jen with no one else around Now he had to

rethink his plans. Back in the apartment.

Jen decides to go out to the Ranch. "I am still not running."

she tells them

Trent, walker and Nic in unison "We know!"

"Ok let's go then."Nic says

"Ok Jen I think I'll be going. Your in safe hands now."

Trent says leaving. Jen looks at him an wonders if he was really

concerned of if Micah had talked him into watching over her.

"Jen are you ready to go now" Walker asked.

"Yep I am ready" Jen announces.

When they drive off Roberts tails them. it doesn't take long for Walker to

notice. Walker tries to shake him But Roberts turns it into a chase.

"Nic Dial Trivette and give me the phone"

Walker says as he takes another corner.

"Ok" Dials the number "Here"

"Jimmy got trouble. Remember I told you. Told you about Roberts. He's out he's on our

tail. We are on the road to the ranch get out here fast." and hangs up.

Roberts tries to run them off the road. Suddenly there are several police

cars on his tail. Roberts tries one more time to run them off the road almost successful he

sped off past them with Trivette and the police on his tail.

"aren't you going after him "Jen asks "No I am taking you to the ranch then I'll

track Roberts down."

"But he's getting away" Jen Yells

" Not for long" Walker replies.

Minutes later at the Ranch

Trivette arrives"We lost him Walker."

"We'll get him Trivette find out all you can

about him. Any connections he

had while he was in Prison etc. see if you can

get me an address."

""I'll gt right on it and what are you going to

Do?" Trivete asks as he leaves.

" I am going to go do some checking of my own.

Nic, Jen one of you call Trent

tell him what happened I don't want to leave

You girls alone.:"

"Jen and I can take care of ourselves." Nic

protests.

"I don't care I am not leaving you two here

alone."

Jen Calls Trent telling him to get to the ranch.

Minutes later Trent Arrives and Walker drives

off.
