Poems
Nothing Gold Can Stay- Robert Frost

Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower,
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day,
Nothing gold can stay.
Tell All The Truth, But Tell It Slant-
Emily Dickenson

Tell all the the Truth but tell it slant--
Success in Circuit lies
Too bright for our infirm Delight
The Truth's surperb surprise

As Lightning to the Children eased
With explanation kind
The Truth must dazzle gradually
Or every man be blind--
Alone- Edgar Allen Poe

From childhood's hour I have not been
As others were --I have not seen
As others saw -- I could not bring
My passions from a common spring--
From the same source I have not taken
My sorrow-- I could not awaken
My heart to joy at the same tone--
And all I lov'd -- I lov'd alone
Then -- in my childhood -- in the dawn
Of a most stormy life -- was drawn
From ev'ry depth of good and ill
The mystery which binds me still--
From the torren, or the fountain--
From the red cliff of the mountain--
From the sun that 'round me roll'd
In it's autumn tint of gold--
From the lightning in the sky
As it pass'd me flying by--
From the thunder, and the storm--
And the cloud that took the form
(When the rest of Heaven was blue)
Of a demon in my view---
Eldorado- Edgar Allen Poe

Gaily bedight
A gallant knight
In sunshine and in shadow
Had journeyed long
Singing a song
In search of Eldorado

But he grew old
This knight so bold
And o'er his heart a shadow
Fell as he found
No spot of ground
That looked like Eldorado

And as his strength
Failed him at length
He met a pilgrim shadow
"Shadow", said he
"Where can it be--
This land of Eldorado?"

"Over the mountains
Of the moon
Down the Valley of the Shadow
Ride, boldly ride"
The shade replied--
"If you seek for Eldorado"
Books and Short Stories
A short list of recommended works.
1984 -George Orwell
This book is almost guaranteed to make you sick but it is a revolutionary work by a revolutionary author.  It's short, it's revealing however provocative.  I do recommend it with slight hesitation.

Animal Farm
- George Orwell
Likewise with the other Orwell authorship this one will make you angry and if you have any depth of personality you will fell offended and...well angry.  Not as potentially offensive as 1984 cause well it's dealing with animals.  But it is very thought provoking.  A must read for any real person.

Star Wars: Dark Lord

Xanth Novels
- Piers Anthony

Paths of Darkness
- R.A. Salvatore

Dark is Rising
- Susan Cooper

Chronicles of Narnia
- C.S. Lewis

The Holy Bible
- Various authors but God through and through
