Chess History

CHESS HAS A LONG HISTORY.  It is at least 1,500 years old. The oldest pieces dated back to the sixth century. Chess is certainly a descendant of the Indian game Chaturanga, meaning "four side because Indian armies were made up of  four parts: The charic the elephants, and the infantrymen.The ultima is based on ancient battle scenarios which can still be applied to the game played by people all over the world today. AN EXPLOSIVE GROWTH IN INTEREST Until the late 19th century, chess was known by the nickname "the game of kings" because of its popularity among the upper classes. However, in the 20th century ordinary people started taking up the game by the thousands. Chess is a game that even children can play just as well as adults.

CHESS GOES TO WEST Game of chess spread with the tings of markets between East Asia Persia in 10th century.Arab playing their way along  the silk Road would often have chess set among their baggage. As a travelers and traders eventually introduces chess into Europe. CENTURY Since 1948, the Russians have ruled supreme in the world of chess. However, American Bobby Fisher, the boy from Brooklyn, took on the might of the Soviet Union when he beat the reigning World Campion, Boris Spassky in Reykjavik, Iceland, in July 1972.
