Learning is a process that never ends; the more one shares the findings and experiences, more he/she learns.

Thought of writing such a book came from the fact that, as students we saw a lot of students from different lines like PGDCA, MCA, B-Level, MSc (I.T), A-Level, BCA, DCA and O-Level etc. searching for a solution book on “Data Structure Through C”. But unfortunately such exclusive solution book was not available in the market.

This book is not an attempt to teach others the art of programming. Rather it is a means to share what we as students learnt and are still learning. As students we too faced problems working and experimenting in lab. We were fortunate to get cooperation of our faculties. But there are many students who study on their own or are not in frequent contact with their faculties, as it is seen in cases of correspondence or self-study.  In such circumstances this book acts as a helpful lab demonstrator. Tested programs of this book will also rectify the commonly committed errors and suggest different approaches to the problems.

Problems gradually become more complex and tricky as the chapters proceeds and their solutions become more and more refined as the book proceeds. Book starts with simple problem like determining odd or even numbers, (very appropriate for the students first class in data structure in ‘C’) to complex MST, hashing functions etc.

This book is nothing more than our lab notebooks compiled together. It’ll prove to be a good guide but never a replacement to the theories or fundamentals. In fact the real pleasure of this book will come to those who are thorough in the fundamentals.

Hope you enjoy working out this book.
